The Ballad of Father Yeager                                                                       Words & Music by Barry Barnes

The clock was striking midnight

As Father Yeager began to pray

Lord please bless this servant

And may your will be done today

Let me take this wilderness forever in your name

And he saddled up his horse and boldly rode away.

Over the mountain, through the valleys wide

Wherever the Spirit would lead him

He was planting the seeds of the Kingdom

He was a knight in holy armor, a Bible for his sword

A light into the darkness…he was a soldier for the Lord.

He was planting the seeds of the Kingdom

So today as we pray, let us say a word of thanks

To Father Yeager

If only we could be like Father Yeager

And ride…

Over the mountains and through the valleys wide

Wherever the Spirit would lead us

We’d be planting more seeds for Jesus

He was a knight in holy armor, a Bible for his sword

A light into the darkness…he was a soldier for the Lord.

He was planting the seeds of God’s Kingdom

And we are the trees of that Kingdom

And we will keep planting seeds for the Kingdom
